Mental illness stigma in Libya

Although I feel we still have a long way to go to reduce the stigma attached with mental illness in Western countries like Australia, it’s important to remember that we have come a long way when compared to the attitudes and hardships faced by mentally ill people in other countries.

The article below is an interesting feature by the BBC about people in Libya suffering from mental illnesses, such as PTSD, and the lack of qualified mental health professionals available to treat them.
